Sweden rock festival releases second annual whisky from High Coast Distillery
In the fall of 2023, Sweden Rock entered into an exclusive collaboration with High Coast Distillery, one of the country's most respected producers of Single Malt Whisky. This time, a completely unsmoked Single Malt is presented that has been aged 6-7 years on both Bourbon and Oloroso barrels. Sweden Rock 25 will be launched at Systembolaget on March 25 and this year's bottle is adorned with Sweden Rock's annual maner.

Sweden Rock Festival's annual whisky has now become a tradition and a highly appreciated launch. The first variant was released back in 2015, making this year's edition the tenth overall and the second in a row from High Coast Distillery. The alcohol content is 46% by volume and the noble drink is aged on both Bourbon and Oloroso barrels. The edition is limited to 4000 bottles and the long-awaited Sweden Rock 25 will be available at Systembolaget on March 25.
The goal this year was to create a Single Malt Whisky that not only appeals to the already initiated enthusiasts, but also to consumers who do not see themselves as typical whisky drinkers. As the whisky is completely unsmoked, it has a milder aroma than many might associate with a more traditional Single Malt. The aroma contains citrus and pear notes, topped with slightly sweeter elements of light chocolate and raisins. The taste is soft and multifaceted and despite its smoothness there is a complex depth. Balanced and flavorful notes of pear, vanilla, light chocolate and dried fruit, among others. The aftertaste is pleasant with a mild sweetness that lingers.
High Coast Distillery will once again be present at Sweden Rocks Festival's VIP area with extended activation. Of course, you will also be able to buy whisky barrels this time, which was a great success last year.
