Italy’s Elvenking has successfully and tastefully combined folk- and power metal on twelve studio albums, including classics like ”Heathenreel” (2001), ”The pagan manifesto” (2014) and most recently the ”Reader of the runes”-trilogy (2019-25). Their unique sound, and knack for avoiding self-repetition, have brought them wide recognition in metal circles. Making their SRF debut way overdue – if you’re yet unfamiliar with Elvenking but enjoy the likes of Blind Guardian, Twilight Force and Brothers of Metal, this is something to look forward to.
