The Gathering

Dutchmen The Gathering have gone through a number of styles since their 1989 beginnings, from death/doom to alternative rock. However, their most successful period was the mid-90s, when they, featuring new singer Anneke van Giersbergen released the groundbreaking goth metal albums ”Mandylion” (1995) and ”Nighttime birds” (1997). Van Giersbergen left in 2007, but in December 2024 it was announced that she had rejoined The Gathering for selected concerts, coinciding with ”Mandylion’s” 30th anniversary. And here we are. We certainly couldn’t have chosen a better time for The Gathering’s Sweden Rock premiere.
