WITHIN TEMPTATION NL

The Netherlands' Within Temptation almost singlehandedly, alongside Finland's Nightwish, triggered the 00s' deluge of orchestral metal with classically trained female vocals. They debuted in 1997, broke big in 2001 with the hit single "Ice queen" off the album "Mother Earth" - from there, simply put, it just continued. Their eighth studio album "Break out" arrived in 2023, becoming another lauded triumph with its harder, more technical sound, adding new fan favorites to such classics as "Stand my ground","What have you done" and the aforementioned "Ice queen". On stage, as on record, Within Temptation's greatest selling point is lead singer Sharon den Adel, with her captivating opera diva charisma and ever flawless soprano vocals.
