No, these Californian cult-jokesters don't play death metal: the name was born (says one version) from someone referring to Poland's Vader as "the Eagles (as in the band) of death metal". Eagles Of Death Metal play a highly groove-based, hard(ish) garage rock with some pretty racy lyrics. They have made four albums since 2004, brimming with such cult songs as "Miss Alissa", "Wannabe in L.A.", "I want you so hard (boy's bad news)", "Save a prayer" och "Don't speak (I came to make a bang!)". Also, frontman Jesse Hughes is famous for his amazing communication with live audiences.
