"They are too big to play at the Sweden Rock Festival". Time after time, that is how we have replied when our guests have asked us to book Iron Maiden. And it should still be the case, but in cooperation with our colleagues at Live Nation we have now found a way to make the impossible possible. Today, we are proud and happy to announce the biggest booking in the history of the festival: Iron Maiden will be playing at Sweden Rock this summer!
Following the massively successful global tour of 2016-17 in support of their 16th studio album "The Book of Souls" Iron Maiden will take to the road again in 2018 with a series of arena and festival shows in Europe on the Legacy Of The Beast World Tour opening in Tallinn, Estonia on May 26 and finishing at the o2 Arena, London on August 10. The tour will hit the Sweden Rock Festival on Thursday, June 7th. There will also be a concert at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm on June 1st. The full European tour schedule can be found on ironmaiden.com and the tour is expected to continue in 2019.
The concept for the Legacy Of The Beast World Tour was inspired by Maiden's mobile game and comic book of the same name and the stage set design will feature a number of different but interlocking "worlds" with a set list covering a large selection of eighties material with a handful of surprises from later albums to add diversity.
