We are saddened to have to announce that Kansas are cancelling their entire 22 concert European tour this summer, including their show at the Sweden Rock Festival. The stated reason is security concerns over traveling to Europe following a general security recommendation posted by the US state department on May 1st.
The band's full official statement reads as follows:
"KANSAS regretfully announces the cancellation of its 2017 European Tour. The cancellation is based on safety and security warnings issued by the United States government and various U.S. law enforcement agencies concerning Americans traveling in Europe this summer. KANSAS is extremely saddened that the band will not be able to perform for its European fans this year."
The Sweden Rock Festival booking team is now searching for a replacement act but asks people to understand that since most touring bands have had their summer plans locked in for a long time, it may prove difficult to find a band similar in size and style. The replacement act will be announced as soon as it has been confirmed.
